Chancellor John D. Wiley's letter regarding Advantage Wisconsin
January 8, 2008
Dear Colleagues:
In recent years, UW-Madison has made major efforts to strengthen and reinforce our value to the citizens of Wisconsin. Under the historic theme of The Wisconsin Idea, we are demonstrating that our impact is stronger than ever before on matters of greatest importance to state citizens, including quality health care, a strong economy, widely accessible education, and enhanced quality of life.
I would like to call your attention today to a UW System initiative, called Advantage Wisconsin, that also follows in the true spirit of The Wisconsin Idea. Advantage Wisconsin is helping articulate and build a strong agenda for Wisconsin higher education around high-impact outcomes: More and better-prepared college graduates, more high-paying jobs of the future, stronger communities, and greater system-wide collaboration.
I am grateful to those of you who have already contributed to this initiative through campus listening sessions and other feedback modes. I encourage all of you to learn more and participate in this project as it progresses in 2008.
Attached is a message from President Kevin Reilly that further outlines the initiative. More detail is available on the Advantage Wisconsin Web site.
Sincerely,
John D. Wiley
Chancellor
