Relating Your Plan to the Campus Plan

Table of Contents

Measuring and Monitoring Progress

  • Identify measures—how will we know that we have accomplished or advanced our goals? Develop a system for monitoring progress on those measures.

  • Link with the Campus Plan Point People regarding the areas you are advancing. Advise them of your progress and success stories so they can include your results in campus summaries and reports.

  • Identify venues for communicating progress such as special newsletters, events, meetings, publications, and the like. Contact University Communications for ideas, Patrick Strickler, Director, University Communications, 262-9406 pstrickler@facstaff.wisc.edu.

  • Contact the Office of Quality Improvement to get ideas on measures of success.

  • See Creating Measures of Success for Your Plan.

  • Find out what departments or units in peer institutions are measuring. The University of California-Berkeley is using the Balanced Scorecard approach to measuring and monitoring progress in administrative areas. See "Improving Climate Through Engagement at Berkeley".
